Nice restaurant in London (Shoreditch, london bridge area) not very expensive but nice food and good place?

Is my boyfriend's birthday I want to go to a nice place but I don't know where, may be some in the river...please help me NOT SUSHI OR SEA FOOD he doesn't like it. THANKS!!

I like smollensky's which is on the strand :) it sells lovely steaks and is reasonably priced. Hope he enjoys his bday :D

great eastern dining rooms (chinese), thang loi (vietnamese), green & red (mexican), fifteen (jamie oliver's) - all shoreditch.

for london bridge - magdalen (british), gaucho (steak!). google them for info.

If you like Italian food and want somewhere with a fabulous view of Tower Bridge then you could try Strada (yes, it is part of a chain, but is one of the better chains).

Ask for a table with a view and sit back and enjoy. It is about 5 minutes walk from London Bridge station
