Nice town to visit in costa rica?

What is a nice place for an american to visit/live in costa rica where the night life is very awesome and i could find some fun people to hang out with I have heard Escazu is a great place to go... any suggestions where the cutties chill in Costa Rica... I have really been considering moving there and would like to move to a place where its fun to be around and I could walk to get from place to place... Please help me out. Thank you.

escazu (suburb of san jose) is for the rich and the americans that live 6 months there.

the largest towns are the only ones that have nightlife aside from the beaches where the tourists are.....

try cartgago or heredia.

i have heard puntarena is good, but very hot.
