Where's a nice place to drive to, North of London, near the A1 or A41.

I'm looking for some nice villages, with some nice pubs, that are nice for a visit on a Sunday.

I'm near the A1, A41.

Thanks!

  1. Visit Radlett A5183 going straight to Elstree. Lots of beautiful traditional pubs along the way. Drive further up pass these two villages up country roads, you'll reach St Alban's.

Come off Jnct 6 on M1 to A405 to St Albans if travelling on motorway.  Follow rd to St Albans, will find many more traditional pubs.

  2. Borhamwood is a nice wee place just off the A41 and has a Aldenham park nearby which is lovely especially with young children.

Berkhamstead is just off the A41 and is nice with plenty of good pubs.

Chesham and Amersham aren't too far from the A41 and also fit the bill.

And while your that direction check out the Chalfonts and Rickmansworth.

    Good luck and enjoy!!
