  1. Although Cayo Coco and Varadero are nice enough, you won't meet any Cubans there, as they aren't allowed into either of those resorts, except in a working capacity.

If you want to see the real Cuba - meet some people, speak some Spanish, and not stay in a resort where you'll be surrounded by other foreigners - try Baracoa, which is a beautiful coastal town in the far east of Cuba. It's got black sand beaches, a fabulous mountain you can climb and a great history. Alternatively, if you want a more urban holiday, Havana and Santiago de Cuba in the east are lively cities. Santiago has a fantastic musical culture, among other things. Havana provides everything you could want from a city, with beaches 15 miles away and you can take a weekend trip to a rural idyll - Viñales - and from there go to beaches like Maria la Gorda, which is the best and most famous beach in Cuba.

  2. Holguin

  3. Nicest place to go would be Cayo Coco. It's just gorgeous there....clear turquoise water and white sand that is powdery soft. As for entertainment, it depends on what you're looking for. There is a lot of entertainment and activities to do at the resort (Tryp Cayo Coco...awesome place!). The Entertainment Team is great and will get you involved in just about everything aside from the beach activities, day trips, etc. There is nightlife as well on and off the resort.

But there is also Santa Lucia, Trinidad, and Veradero that you would also enjoy. There is a lot of entertainment there and it's beautiful too.

Check the links below to see what catches your interest. But no matter where you go, do take the day trips (or two day trips) into Havana. There's a lot of excitement there.

  4. Probably Varadero.  It has everything, dozens of resorts,  fabulous beach, good night life in town which is right there , you don't have to go 25 miles for it, and you can easily do a day trip to Havana something not to be missed.  Check the links below they have a lot about Varadero but also other destinations to take a look at.

  5. Any place in Cuba is gorgeous, especially if you can get past all the c**p that has been spread in the media about Cuba over the last 50 years .......

  6. Unless you live outside the United States, you can't go to cuba. It's not allowed.
