My fiance and I are going to Key West on out honeymoon. What is the most upscale, beautiful resort in Key West? A good beach is very important to me! Is Key West good for a honeymoon or is it more of a spring break drinking town?

  1. I just got back from Key West and it is wonderful ! We stayed at the Bestwestern Hibiscus (not a resort and not upscale but nice) The Casa Marina (upscale) is a wonderful resort. Also there are a ton of B&B It is definitaly a drinking town but it is so laid back and nobody bugs anybody(we are not big drinkers but we still go back every year for our anniversary) Key West is not known for their beaches but if you go up a ways 37 miles there is Bahia Honda state park with a beautiful beach. If funds are plentiful you might want to look into Sunset Key, it is accessed by ferry from Key west (1/4 mile) I have never stayed there but it looks beautiful and it looks like it has a beach. I think its quite upscale because I know its exspensive. There is plenty to do whether you drink or not. Have fun it is BEAUTIFUL

  2. The Hyatt Resort...there's actually 2, the one I stay at every year (we have timeshare) is on the right as soon as you get on the island. It's absolutely gorgeous, spacious rooms, Master Bath is  huge, and the place is just beautiful in general. The other upscale place would be the Hyatt Hotel (not sure of exact name), it is actually near the beach front, and has a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel I believe has many more accommodations that would suite anyone, and I don't believe you need timeshare to spend time there. Just Google Hyatt Resort, and look at both places they have listed for Key West.

As for it being a good honeymoon place or just a drinking town...it's both. As said previously, it's a very laid-back atmosphere (no one cares about your race, sexuality, religious views, etc.,), and is unlike any place you've ever been. Every time I go there I'd love to have my significant other there with me just because how beautiful and what an amazing little town the island is. The sunset down there is absolutely breathtaking, and is like the first time you've ever seen a sunset in your life. The people are very laid-back, and non-judgmental...it would even be a great place for you to get married(like what I'm planning to do someday).

Trust me, you'll go there once and fall in love.
