Nicholas Alexiou conquers Men’s 200m freestyle crown: 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Junior Nationals
Day four of the 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Junior Nationals saw the impressive splash of Nicholas Alexiou in the 200m freestyle A final meet in Paloalto, California, on Thursday, August 11.
The session of the championships held the Men’s 200m freestyle A, B and C finals. Nicholas Alexiou secured the gold medal in the 200m freestyle A final meet, whereas, Gunnar Bentz won the 200m freestyle B final. Sean Duggan captured the Men’s 200m C final
race.
Clearwater Aquat’s Nicholas Alexiou produced a brilliant splash in the respective meet and took home the Men’s 200m freestyle A final title with a winning time of 1 minute and 50.34 seconds. Matias Koski of Dynamo Swim Club earned the silver medal on the
podium by submitting an impressive time of 1 minute and 50.54 seconds, while Cannon Clifton of Magnolia Aquatic clinched the bronze medal with a time of 1 minute and 51.91 seconds.
Jack Lane of Dynamo Swim Club was placed fourth in 1 minute and 52.93 seconds, while Grant Koudelka of Champion Aquatic finished fifth in a time of 1 minute and 53.14 seconds.
Gunnar Bentz took home the Men’s 200m freestyle B final by submitting a time of 1 minute and 51.41 seconds, while Liam Egan of Crimson Aquatics finished second in 1 minute and 52.90 seconds. David Williams of North Carolina settled third in a time of 1 minute
and 53.18 seconds. Matth Thompson of West Florida Lig was placed fourth in 1 minute and 53.25 seconds, while Micha Hudspith of La Mirada Armada finished fifth in a time of 1 minute and 53.39 seconds.
Sean Duggan of Highlander Aquat won the Men’s 200m freestyle C final meet with a victorious time of 1 minute and 52.54 seconds. Michael Nunan of Santa Clara Swim finished second in a time of 1 minute and 52.65 seconds, while Thomas Cooper of Triton Swimming
was placed third in 1 minute and 53.78 seconds. Luke Shaw of Alamo Area Aquat was placed fourth in 1 minute and 54.21 seconds, whereas, David Paulk of Jewish Community wound up fifth by posting a time of 1 minute and 54.29 seconds.
