Nick LaBrocca looks forward to the first 2011 Major League Soccer match with his new team Chivas USA
After not a very impressive pre-season this year, CD http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-Gordon-c4252. The deal was completed on Friday and LaBrocca arrived at the Home Depot
Centre right away.
The player is with the rest of the team training for the first Major League Soccer match on 19 March 2011. The holding mid-fielder has been struggling with a consistent stay at one outfit. He was traded to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toronto-FC-c40744 from the Rapids in 2010 and just after
a single season the player was again on the move to California.
However, Chivas management has always inspired the player and according to him, working under the supervision of Robin Fraser will bring out the good qualities in him. “I’m excited because I’ve heard good things about this team and its coaching staff and
there are certainly things to build on from last season,” LaBrocca said. “I bring a little bit of everything to the table and I’ll let my play on the field do the talking for me.”
LaBrocca surely will not face any problems in getting used to the new place, as assistant manager of the outfit happens to be his former team-mate. Greg Vanney was with LaBrocca in the Rapids back in 2007. After his retirement, Vanney moved to Chivas as
assistant to Robin Fraser. The former team-mate was the first one to welcome the mid-fielder at the camp.
With the versatile set of skills, LaBrocca has the capabilities of playing in the mid-field, defence and in the more forward position, but he served the Reds in the defensive mid-field and is expected to see the same spot with the California-based team.
The player scored a goal for the Reds in the 2010 MLS season accompanied by six assists. The 26-year-old started 24 out of the 30 matches for TFC. With a good history in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Canada-c748 and the club surrounded with injuries, the two-way mid-fielder will not have
much problem in finding a permanent spot in Fraser’s pecking order.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Blair-Gavin-c7677 and Mike Lahoud are all contenders of the defensive mid-field spot, but are likely to miss the 19 March scrimmage due to their respective injuries and LaBrocca seems to be the only choice for the season starter.
However, LaBrocca has no complaints with the team management, as long as they put him in the mid-field. “Anywhere in midfield, I’ll feel like I’ll be able to fit in,” said LaBrocca. “I played in a similar formation in Toronto and I got some good coaching
points over there and I’m excited to use those points and apply them to my new team.”
Chivas will host Sporting Kansas City for the season starter on 19 March at the Home Depot Centre in Carson City, California.
