Nick Symmonds for Gold in 800m?

Does anyone think that Nick Symmonds will make the final and medal in Beijing?

As a fellow 800m runner I love Nick Symmonds.  I think that he has a good chance of making the finals, but keep in mind anything can happen with rounds in an event i.e. Tyson g*y in the 200m.  Also to advance to the next stages runners will probably need to be running 1:44-1:45 at the minimum each round.

There are some great runners in the world especially 19 year old phenom Abubaker Kaki Khamis of Sudan who ran 1:42.xx earlier this year.  I really hope however Symmonds lights it up and does amazing.  Best of luck to him!!

yes i think he has a good shot at making the finals (it will be hard but he can do it) and you never know with nick symmonds the races pace could be kind of slow and he could just go down the last 150 and outkick them all, or the pace could be fast and he will never catch up to them sitting and kicking, so you never know anythings possible. but im just going to guess he makes the finals but doesnt medal, but i hope he wins it i love watching him race

I love watching him race, and that Trials final was a bit nerve racking. It did show, however, his ability to sit in the back of the pack and wait. His move to the outside with 150 left was perfect and his kick, brilliant. If he races smart, I think he will definitely hit the podium. He has definitely shown his ability in the 800 and I would love to see him pull gold.
