Nick Trapasso leaves Toy Machine to start his own brand
Nick Trapasso, the professional skateboarder from California, has finished his association with Toy Machine, the team that made him famous, to start his own brand of skateboards, Life Extension, with Pat “Sinner” Pasquale.
The 22-year-old underground sensational informed Ed Templeton, the founder of Toy Machine, of his decision over the phone and the parting of ways took place in quite a peaceful manner. There was neither exchange of heated words nor any criticism.
On the contrary, both the parties thanked each other for the contributions that had allowed them both to progress and flourish over the years. Trapasso thanked the company for turning him into a pro, while Templeton thanked him for his valuable contribution
to the company by getting covers and winning contests.
Templeton said in the press release that, “It will be sad to see such a great talent go. Toy Machine wishes him luck in his future endeavours. We are looking forward to our own future with newly anointed pro Collin Provost joining the gang.”
Trapasso had widely gained recognition in the underground skateboarding even before winning the X Games Real Street contest in 2010, with much of the credit going to his amazing part in Toy Machine’s “Suffer The Joy” video.
The skateboarding sensation is quite sure about his future game plan, which he revealed during an interview, “We're trying to meet up with some people and see if we want to do this board brand, Life Extension, ourselves or do it with someone else who is
down to help us out with it. Me and Pat Pasquale are going to do it ourselves fo sho but we're trying to see if we want to get it distributed by somebody or just do it out of our garage.”
In contrary to the widespread speculations, Trapasso made it clear that he does not plan on riding for anyone else. He stressed on the fact once again that he did not part ways with Toy Machine because of having some internal problems with the company, but
only because he wanted to do his own thing.
While the decision regarding the distributors is yet to be taken, Trapasso plans on getting the first trailer and catalogue of the boards out by December.
