Nicklas Bendtner destined for Arsenal exit as Benfica join the race to sign him
Arsenal striker and Danish international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicklas-Bendtner-c27726 seems destined to head out of the Emirates this summer.
The forward has been linked with a number of clubs and has also stated that in order to save his career, he needs to push for an exit from the club.
It now seems like Portuguese club, Benfica are also interested in landing the towering forward, following his comments and his urgency to leave the team.
At the moment, the primary striker at Benfica is http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oscar-c28720 Cardozo. However, the striker is set be on his way out of the club this summer and as a result, the Portuguese club are looking to find a replacement for the player.
Bendtner was previously linked with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sporting-89-c40576 Lisbon, however, with the club’s interest dying out in the forward, it seems like their local rivals, Benfica might just land the player.
Arsenal have gone on to value the forward at around twelve million pounds, which seems to be a fee that Benfica might just be willing to pay, in order to stabilize their attacking options.
Over the course of the last few seasons, it has seemed like Bendtner had finally had enough with the team. Despite proving that he more than just a decent member of the team, the striker finds it close to impossible to break into the starting eleven. In
fact, the forward is almost always on the bench for the Gunners and is only given permission to start when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 suffer from a series of injuries to their forwards.
In the past, with Arsenal only having http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marouane-Chamakh-c24294 coming into the squad last season, Bendtner has theoretically dropped
down to being third choice at the club.
The striker has in the past, gone on to spend an entire season on loan with Birmingham City, in that stay, he managed to make more starts then he has made with Arsenal in any single season, over the course of the five seasons that he has spent with them.
At the same time, Bendtner is still only twenty three years old. This means that he needs to secure a spot in a team, in order to save his career, or he might just end up being nothing more than a fringe player for the rest of his life.
The player and his agent have already hinted that an exit might be in order, in the near future and most Arsenal fans are also hoping for it to take place, in order for the forward to save himself and his career.
