Nicklas Bendtner, the Arsenal striker on a season long loan to Sunderland, revealed he was extremely pleased to have scored his debut goal for the Black Cats against West Bromwich Albion over the weekend. While Sunderland may have failed to secure a victory,
they did manage a 2-2 draw, which will undoubtedly ease the pressure on manager Steve Bruce.
Sunderland have had a terrible start to the season, having secured just six points from seven games in the new Premier League season. Before the weekends draw at West Bromwich Albion, the Black Cats have lost the last three games, which has led to speculation
regarding Bruce’s future at the club. However, the single point from the weekend could help him retain his position longer.
Bendtner arrived at the Stadium of Light in the summer transfer window from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 after falling out of favour with the Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger. He was tempted to join Sunderland with Bruce promising him regular first team football, an offer the 23-year-old
forward could not refuse. Bendtner admitted he was delighted with finally having scored a goal for Sunderland, into his fourth appearance for his new side.
Bendtner said in an interview:
“I was very delighted. I knew Seb was going to drag it back because he had seen me, but as I saw the tackle coming in, I thought 'Oh no', because it was difficult and I had to shoot first touch.
But then it deflected in and I was very pleased because it's always special to get off the mark no matter how it goes in.”

“I was a bit unlucky against Norwich, but then again, it was always going to come at some point.
If you keep putting yourself in the box and keep getting in amongst the chances, it will come for sure.”
