Nicknames for the name Emma Jane? NOT Em!!

Question

My name is Emma Jane, & I really hate both of my names!

So many girls nowadays are called Emma, so it's very un-original! Also, Jane is very plain & old fashioned!

At the moment, most people call me either Janey (I hate this one), Nemma (My lil nephew started that off) & my close friends call me Emer.

What possible nicknames could I use? I don't like Emmie or anything because It's all girly & childish, which really isn't me!

Also, how old do you have to be to change your name, & how is it done?

So basically, for the people who didn't read all that (Like me :P),, what possible nicknames are there for the name Emma Jane & how old do you have to be to get your name changed?

Nemma is cute, too, because it came from your nephew.

you could change your full name to:

Emmaline/Emmalina and then be called Lina

Emerelle (sort of like the jewel, emerald, and your close friends could still call you Emer)

Why not something that is totally a different nickname?  why stick with what your parents gave you if you don't want to?  A nickname can be YOURS alone.

If you want it to be from Emma Jane, I thought of   "Mej"  rhymes with hedge.  At least it's different...

In most states you have to be 18 to change your name legally.

Well, lots of times nicknames stem from other stuff besides your name. For example, my name is Elizabeth but people call me Mixie or Mix because of an incident that happened in high school lol.

Or another example, my friend is called Furf or Furfer which stems from ChristoPHER...i guess that's kinda creative and different.

My parents call me "E"... that might work for you too.
