just sparked off a series of events that would eventually lead to Newcastle’s emergence as a top-five Premiership side.
Butt had a chance to see the current Newcastle side and meet new faces as well as his former colleagues including the likes of Fabricio Coloccini, Steven Taylor, Shola Ameobi and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew, who should
also be credited for Newcastle’s resurgence as a top side.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Nicky Butt discussed how he felt about the club and his journey in a black and white shirt. He said:
"I'm on a family holiday and I spoke to a few of the lads, and they said they were down here.”
"So they invited me to come along and bring my kids to watch them train, and it was good to see them.”
"Obviously I don't know a lot of them because they weren't here when I was here, but the ones that were are still friends and it was nice to catch up with them and see them again."
The former Magpie captain also discussed how he’s currently looking forward to a career in football management and coaching.
"I've just been getting my coaching qualifications," he added. "I've done all my coaching badges now so I'm looking to get into that side of things.”
"But at the moment, I'm just having a good holiday with my family."
The ex-England international operated as a defensive midfielder and began his career with Manchester United, having spent 12 years with the club. He moved to Newcastle United in 2004 and managed 171 appearances for the club. The former Magpie captain is
looking forward to his vacations in Portugal and hopes to catch Newcastle in action as they take on Olympiacos on later today.
