Nicky Hayden and Andrea Dovizioso looking ahead of Sepang 2 – MotoGP news
Ducati riders Nicky Hayden and Andrea Dovizioso have realised very quickly that they should not expect much in the second official 2013 MotoGP test scheduled to start in less than two weeks
at Sepang.
It is has a lot to do with the Ducati bike. Numerous riders including the seven times MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi have complained about the Ducati bike in the past as well. Although Ducati
are putting in their best efforts to improve the 2013 MotoGP bike, but the process will take time and is something that one cannot accomplish overnight.
“We need to improve in a lot of areas. Unfortunately, that's the one thing for the engineers; it's not just chatter or just grip or just turning. We have to improve in all the phases,” Hayden
said while talking about the things which needed improvement in the Ducati bike.
Ducati have hired new professionals at an effort to improve the on-track performance if their bike. However, Bernhard Gobmeier, the new Ducati boss and Paolo Ciabatti, the new MotoGP manager
did not get too much time with the team considering the face that they only joined at the start of 2013. Hayden realises that the new management will need more time in order to suggest the problematic areas of the bike.
“The new guys only started in the January, they haven't had the full...you can't just go in and make a new part, it takes time,” Hayden said.
Dovizioso, who rode for Repsol Honda and Monster Yamaha Tech 3 teams in the past, had views pretty similar to his teammate.
“Everything, I would like to see a new bike from the ground up,” was Dovizioso’s answer when he was asked what needed to change with the Ducati bike.
“We are in a strange situation; I have never seen Yamaha and Honda both strong like this in the past with all the strong riders,” Dovizioso further said while talking about the competition
the Ducati riders will have to face in the upcoming MotoGP season.
It is imperative for Ducati to get back on the podium in the upcoming season for it has been over two years that any Ducati rider won a MotoGP round.
