Nicky Hayden anticipates decent results despite hand injury at Motegi – MotoGP news
Nicky Hayden of Ducati expects decent results at the Japanese Grand Prix despite suffering from hand injury.
He got injured during the Aragon Grand Prix. He believes that the racing experience at Motegi is nice because of the fans.
The Ducati rider faced an injury at the Aragon GP and was retired from the race. He thought that he has escaped the incident unscratched but it was not the case. He received a hand fracture however the hand does not hurt much therefore he will be racing
at the upcoming Japanese GP.
He told that he does not like the Motegi circuit much but the passionate fans make the event interesting.
Hayden said, “Japan has a lot of passionate fans, and it’s a place where motorcycle racing has a rich tradition, which is nice even though I wouldn’t say Motegi has been one of my favourite or best tracks. It’s the first race of three in a row, and it’s
really important.”
He told that he was feeling fine after the race until he reached home. His was not feeling well with his hand and therefore he went for X-ray and CT scan which revealed that he has received a fracture in his right radius, another possible injury. Despite
the fracture he is able to have a good grip and expects that he will not be facing many problems during the race.
“I’m hopeful that it won’t cause too many problems this weekend. Racing’s full of ups and downs. We’ll try to ride this one out and hopefully get a decent result in Japan to get a little momentum going and get some confidence back,” he added.
Furthermore, the Ducati rider said that race at the Motegi circuit is expected to be challenging due to the ups and downs. He added that they will try to get some decent result over the circuit however their secondary target would be to get some confidence
over his bike.
Hayden had recently had a hand injury at the Indianapolis Grand Prix however he managed to return to circuit at the Italian Grand Prix and suffered another accident at the Aragon GP.
Let’s hope he manages to finish the current season, unscratched.
