Nicky Henderson’s Lyvius looking to keep winning streak intact in the Floor V Davis HL 1979 Juvenile Hurdle at Newbury
Floor V Davis HL 1979 Juvenile Hurdle will take place at Newbury on 2nd March, 2012. The 12 runners will be competing over a distance of 2 miles and 110 yards for a purse of £2,924.
The line-up consists of:
Brilliant Barca,
Lyvius,
School For Scandal,
Alayir,
Armagnac Rebel,
Gottany O’S,
Mahayogin,
Mr Pyramus,
State Senator,
Victorian Number,
Lady Valtas, and
Revaader.
Lyvius, son of Paolini, out of Lysuna, has been in stellar form. He finished first twice in a row and is looking to complete his hat-trick with a win in this race.
The 4-year-old gelding finished first by defeating Execution by 1 and a ½ length in the Iffezheim-Preis Des Gemeinde Derbys Ausgleich, at Baden-Baden, on 9th October, 2011.
He repeated this performance and succeeded over Rhymers Ha’ by 2 lengths, in the Berrymoss Novices’ Hurdle, at Kelso, on 15th February, 2012.
Gottany O’s, son of Storming Home, out of Miletrian Cares, was pulled out from his previous race due to an injury.
He was going steadily, chasing the leaders, but could not continue the race on 23rd January, 2012, The Turftv.co.uk Juvenile Maiden Hurdle, at Wetherby.
Before he sustained the injury, he was performing well, much to the satisfaction of his trainer, Donald McCain.
He secured a victory in the closing race of 2011. He defeated Quails Hollow by 1 ¼ lengths, in the Cheshire Jets Handicap, at Chester, on 24th September, 2011.
He finished 3rd in his season debut as he was defeated in the Doncaster Racecourse Wedding Show 15th January Juvenile Hurdle, at Doncaster, on 11th Janaury, 2012.
Mahayogin, son of Dixie Union, out of Shiva, finished 4th in his seasonal debut.
The 4-year-old gelding maintained a safe pace throughout the race and did not threaten the leaders in the London Southend Airport Juvenile Hurdle, at Sandown, on 17th February, 2012.
Lyvius looks like the top contender of this race. He is trained by Nicky Henderson, who is a renowned name in the world of horse-racing. His horses have an outstanding record and Lyvius is no different.
He is in terrific form and has many victories to his name. He looks in perfect shape to bag another victory in this race.
Gottany O’s likely to finish 2nd, if he completely recovers from his injuries.
The third place is likely to be acquired by Mahayogin.
