Nico Hulkenberg competing strongly while expected to join Sauber soon – Formula 1 news
The Force India driver, Nico Hulkenberg, keeps bringing on strong finishes as he is expected to join team Sauber soon.
The driver made his debut in Bahrain Grand Prix in 2010. He was driving for Williams F1 team at that time. He joined the Force India racing team last year in January. In the current season, he qualified at ninth place for the Australian Grand Prix which
was six places ahead of his teammate Paul di Resta. At the Malaysian Grand Prix, he succeeded in scoring his very first points for Force India. He qualified sixteenth for the Chinese Grand Prix and gained his best Formula 1 finish at the Belgian Grand Prix
achieving a fourth place on the grid.
In the recent Japanese and Korean Grands Prix, he was able to score a seventh and sixth place respectively.
Hulkenberg said, “The team is doing a good job. I feel more comfortable in the car, and we’ve just got a nice rhythm and momentum. It’s so important, as we all know in F1. It’s just running well. Two race weekends ago in Singapore I had more of a rough weekend,
and since then it’s got going a bit again.”
Talking about the Korean weekend, he added, “It was a perfect weekend. At the beginning of the weekend, I said that’s what we needed, and that’s what we had, no mistakes, and everything went smooth and well. That was reflected in the qualifying performance,
and again in the race.”
Since four races remain in the current season, Hulkenberg is determined to keep up a similar performance in those races. He admitted that they need to fight competitively and it is definitely possible.
As the Indian Grand Prix approaches the in almost twelve days, Hulkenberg is confident as he thinks that it is practically going to be a home ground to them. He admits that the circuit is going to be different for him and that makes it even more interesting.
Indian media has been abuzz with reports circulating about Hulkenberg joining the Sauber team soon. A report this Monday had the driver stating that he has already signed a contract with the said team but the driver’s agent has neither denied nor confirmed
the reports.
