Nico Hulkenberg expresses full faith in Sauber’s 2013 driver line-up – Formula 1 news
Nico Hulkenberg has said that he has full faith in Sauber’s driver line-up for the 2013 Formula 1 season and expressed his strong commitment towards his team.
Hulkenberg has been considered as one of the most talented drivers in the sport. Furthermore, he performed tremendously well with Force India during 2012 and attained some competitive results along with his teammate, Paul di Resta.
He has joined Sauber in this year and will drive alongside Esteban Gutierrez who performed convincingly well in the last year’s GP2 series.
Despite the fact that Gutierrez is going to take part in his first ever F1 season, Hulkenberg has shown full confidence in the driver line-up of the Swiss team.
The veteran German driver has said that his new teammate, Gutierrez has gained some valuable experience as a reserve driver, therefore, he doesn’t see any kind of deficit in their 2013 driver line-up.
“I don't see any deficit to be honest,” Hulkenberg told the official F1 website. “Indeed I am new in team, but not new in F1, and Esteban has gained experience as test driver with Sauber so he is not new to them. I would say there is no deficit, but rather
the chance to make good acquaintances.”
In addition, he said that they are trying their best to come up with a competitive car in this season and are aiming to secure better position in this year’s championship fight. Besides, he said that he is eagerly waiting to test the car in the first pre-season
test which is going to be held at Jerez circuit in February.
“During this time of the year it is always to make me comfortable in car. Making a good seat in which I feel comfortable is very important. Luckily I fit in well so I am ready for testing in Jerez at the beginning of February,” he added.
The competition is going to be even tougher in this season as almost all the contenders are planning to build on their last year’s cars. Let’s see how the Hinwil based team competes with its main rivals in this season.
