Nico Hulkenberg insists Force India to push harder – Formula 1 news
Force India driver Nico Hulkenberg has said that they really need to push harder so as to be able to secure a competitive position in the 2012 Formula 1 World Championship.
Hulkenberg impressed everyone with his amazing pace in the Korean Grand Prix held at Korea International Circuit as he secured an inspiring sixth place finish after overtaking Lewis Hamilton of McLaren and Romain Grosjean of Lotus.
Moreover, after attaining some competitive points in the preceding race, he is now standing ahead of his teammate, Paul di Resta in the drivers’ championship.
The veteran German driver praised the efforts of his team and expressed that he is feeling very happy with their progress in the season so far.
“The team is doing a good job, and I feel more comfortable in the job,” said Hulkenberg.
Nevertheless, he said that they still need to make some essential preparations so as to come up stronger in the remaining four grands prix in order to secure a good position in this year’s constructors’ championship.
“We have nice rhythm and momentum, which is so important in F1 and it is running well. But two race weekends ago in Singapore I had more rough weekend, so we need to make sure we get four more weekends like this one,” he said.
In addition, he said that they will definitely need to work very hard to secure competitive results in the forthcoming races as the competition is very tough.
“And I certainly wouldn't expect it just like that. It will be hard work so we need to stretch ourselves to achieve it every single time now,” he added.
It will be important to mention that the team principal of Force India, Vijay Mallya has said that their aim is to beat Sauber in this year’s championship and they are working at their best to achieve their target.
The Silverstone based team has been considered as one of the most competent mid-field contenders in this season and it surely deserves to be called as one. Let’s see how Hulkenberg and Di Resta perform in the races ahead.
