Nico Hulkenberg splits ways with manager Willi Weber
Former Williams’ driver and Force India’s current test driver, Nico Hulkenberg, has recently announced that he has split ways with his manager Willi Weber.
“Nico Hulkenberg and manager Willi Weber part their ways. The 23-year-old Formula One driver from now on takes management matters in his own hands”, according to a statement on Hulkenberg’s official website.
Weber introduced Hulkenberg to Formula 1 in 2010 after which, the young German gave an extraordinary debut season performance for his team Williams.
Nico was unable to retain his seat for 2011, as the team decided to sign the well-backed, Pastor Maldonado, who was bringing some pretty good sponsors, and, investors, including PDVSA, as a part of his package for the team.
It was quite disappointing for the young German, as he was hoping for a bright future in the sport especially after he scored a spectacular pole position using a Williams that was nowhere near the pace of McLaren, Ferrari, or, Red Bull Racing Team, in terms
of pace back in 2010.
Nevertheless Nico is hoping to score some good results, as the test driver of Force India this year in order to get promoted to a race seat for next year probably.
“Both sides are currently working on a smooth changeover and on a satisfying solution for everyone. Hulkenberg will from now on be supported in executing his management issues by his former PR advisor Timo Gans”, the statement added.
Willi Weber is the same person that brought the two Schumacher brothers, Michael Schumacher, and, Ralf Schumacher, to Formula 1. He no longer works with them but he has played a major role in their respective careers as well.
Hulkenberg has been one of the best new drivers of the 2010 Formula 1 season and according to Willi Weber, he is going to make it big in Formula 1 one day.
After an extraordinary debut season, one has to admit that the young German has the capability to drive alongside the top running drivers of the sport, provided he has a good piece of machinery.
