Nico Rosberg has earned a lot of respect this season as he was able to beat his team-mate and 7-time world champion Michael Schumacher after an exhilarating and dramatic season.
The young German outperformed Michael at almost every single race of the 2010 Formula 1 season in his Mercedes and many critics believe that the team should start focusing on Nico more rather than Michael in order to secure their future and produce promising
results.
Former Jordan owner Eddie Jordan recently stated that the Nico Rosberg was able to dominate and outperform his rivals in a car that was not as good as Nico portrayed it. Rosberg is one of those drivers who have the ability to drive any sort of car at its
best and therefore, Jordan believes that the young German is a world champion in the making.
Eddie Jordan has been one of Michael Schumacher’s biggest critics and he believes that Michael will not be able to outperform his team-mate in 2011 either. However, since Mercedes is building a car according to the 7-time world champion’s likings, one can
beg to differ from what Jordan said. Michael does not have the personality or character a champion has but he is one of the best drivers the world will ever witness.
“Rosberg could turn out to be the real darling because if the car was as grim as what Michael was making reference to then you have to say, hang on a second, Rosberg absolutely pasted him in virtually every capacity, certainly in qualifying, in race technique,
in all the usual benefits you would expect Michael Schumacher to excel in,” said Jordan.
Eddie believes that Michael did not do that and after evaluating Nico’s performance this season, he could possibly become a world champion if he is provided with the best possible piece of machinery.
“Technically within the team, everything is circling around Michael Schumacher and for very good reason. He is the PR management within this structure and of course a seven-time world champion. It is quite clear he only came back to be in that team as a
number one,” he added.
That is obvious and according to Michael Schumacher, he is aiming for nothing less than a title in 2011. However, one has to admit that Nico Rosberg is definitely one of the rising stars of the sport and he might give Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, Jenson
Button and Sebastian Vettel a tough time in the near season.
