Nico Rosberg claims Mark Webber apologised for the incident in Korean GP
Former championship leader Mark Webber lost his lead at the Korean Grand Prix when he crashed out of the race and took Nico Rosberg with him while sliding down the track and hit the side wall.
It was clearly no one’s fault but morally, it was Mark’s responsibility to apologize and Nico revealed that the Australian driver apologised after the incident at the Korean Grand Prix.
There was a lot of controversy after Gerhard Berger told a Red Bull owned T.V. channel that maybe Mark was trying to take out some of his rivals but misfired and took out Nico Rosberg. Nico Rosberg also stated that it was stupid of Webber as he did not hit
the brakes even after hitting the wall.
However, it was quite clear that the drivers were having a difficult race and due to the unpredictable conditions, there was nothing Mark could do. The driver stated that the Korean International Circuit was the most slippery track they have ever driven
on so it was bound to happen. And besides, when a driver loses control, it gets very difficult to regain control and therefore, Mark is not the one to be blamed.
The F1 circuit at Interlagos built this story further and it was stated that Mark Webber said that it was quite ridiculous of Nico to blame the Australian for what happened. The drivers were aware of what the situation was at the track so Nico should realize
that Mark was bound to collide with his Mercedes.
However, it was revealed earlier that Webber cleared this matter with Rosberg.
“He made a mistake, he knew he could be losing the title in that moment, he thought about something else ... he came to me and apologised this afternoon. And I don't blame him; that's racing. End of story,” he revealed.
Webber, on the other hand, admitted that Gerhard Berger’s comments were quite weird and his team boss Christian Horner also echoed the Australian’s words and said that it is just what Gerhard Berger thinks, not Red Bull.
