Nico Rosberg expecting a few problems in Silverstone Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has said that he is expecting to face few problems in the 2013 British Grand Prix despite topping the timesheets in the second free practice session at Silverstone circuit.
Rosberg set the fastest time in FP2 in dry conditions and seemed really comfortable behind the wheel of his car. He expressed that they successfully managed to gather some valuable information about their updates which will surely provide them great help
in making further advancements.
In addition, he said that he is hoping for a good qualifying in Silverstone. However, he said that they may face some issues on the race day because of high temperature.
“The afternoon went well,” Rosberg said. “On one lap I think the car is still quick as we have seen in the last few months so qualifying should be OK, and then the only question mark is our race speed. We practiced for the race speed today, it seemed to
be OK, decent, but I'm sure it's still going to be a little bit of a problem for us.”
“The next thing is that it's going to be another 10 degrees more tomorrow and Sunday, and that could completely change the picture again,” he added.
Besides, he said that he is still facing some difficulties with the balance of his car. Therefore, he insisted that they need to work harder to make the necessary changes in the car’s setup in order to come up stronger in this weekend’s race to attain good
result.
At present, he is standing at 6th place in the drivers’ championship with 57 points. Additionally, he is ahead of Felipe Massa of Ferrari and behind his main rival, Mark Webber of Red Bull Racing. Moreover, he has completely outpaced his teammate, Lewis
Hamilton, in the qualifying and has claimed an incredible victory in the Monaco GP after securing his third consecutive pole position of the season.
It will be thrilling to see how the German driver performs in the British GP and whether he will be able to come up to the expectations of his team and fans or not.
