Nico Rosberg hopes Mercedes will come up stronger in 2013 – Formula 1 news
Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has said that they will hopefully come up stronger in the 2013 Formula 1 season as they are trying their best to make the substantial step-ups in their car.
The Silver Arrows had quite an admirable pre-season testing programme this year as compared to the last one in which they could barely test their car before the season opener.
However, they have not been able to take the most out of their car as they have struggled with poor tyre management and some reliability issues in the current season so far which have hindered the performance of Rosberg and his teammate, Michael Schumacher.
Nonetheless, the veteran German driver has said that they are working hard to resolve the problems which they have faced in this season until now and are positively looking forward to show up with a more reliable car in the coming year.
It is to be noted that Lewis Hamilton of McLaren is going to join the Brackley based squad in the next season as Schumacher’s replacement who has decided to retire at the end of this year.
The 27-year-old has said that Hamilton’s arrival in the team will provide them a competitive edge and they will do even better in the next year.
“No, because the team is improving,” Rosberg said. “We've made a lot of changes in the factory that are only going to have a massive impact on next year's car. This year was already too late when all the changes happened, so I'm confident that we're going
to do better and better. And Lewis is another good example, he looked at it and he said 'OK yeah, I believe in this team' and that's why he came.”
Besides, he said that they have struggled in the preceding two races and have failed to attain the desired results. Nevertheless, he asserted that they are aiming to perform well in the remaining three races to secure a good position in this year’s championship.
“I think [performance will be] similar to India at the moment. The last couple of weekends have been tough and here's going to be similar,” he added.
