Nico Rosberg hopes to achieve good result in 2012 Indian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has said that he is hoping to achieve good result in the 2012 Indian Grand Prix despite facing retirement in the last couple of races.
Rosberg was retired in the opening lap of the Korean Grand Prix along with Jenson Button of McLaren because of the collision with Kamui Kobayashi of Sauber who lost control over his car at turn 3.
Even though, he was one of the most consistent point scorers during the opening few races and scored his maiden victory in the Chinese GP after claiming his first ever pole position. However, he has faced immense difficulties in the preceding few races due
to which he has lost some crucial points in the championship.
Nevertheless, he has asserted that he is positively looking forward to perform well in the Indian GP which is to be held at Buddh International Circuit next weekend.
In addition, he said that the track of the approaching race is one of the fastest circuits in the calendar and is very challenging for all the drivers. Therefore, he insisted that they have to work really hard to develop the right strategy for the race ahead
in order to attain the desired result.
“The Buddh International Circuit is very challenging with an interesting combination of slow speed corners and long fast straights,” Rosberg said.
Additionally, he admired the love and support of the Indian fans which he got during the last season.
“The track also has one of the highest average speeds in Formula 1 and is good for overtaking. Last year I was really impressed by the passion and friendliness of the Indian people so I'm looking forward to visiting again and having some more interesting
experiences,” he said.
“I hope that I will have a bit more luck than recently next weekend, and I will have the chance to achieve a good result,” he added.
At present, he is standing at 7th place in the drivers’ championship with 93 points. Besides, he is behind Button and is ahead of Romain Grosjean of Lotus.
Let’s see how the veteran German driver performs in the remainder of the season.
