Nico Rosberg insists Mercedes need to work really hard – Formula 1 news
Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has said that they need to push really hard to secure a competitive position in the 2012 Formula 1 World Championship.
Rosberg has performed tremendously well in the first half of the current season and has been one of the most consistent point scorers. He is presently standing at 6th place in the drivers’ championship with 77 points. Moreover, he is just a point
ahead of Jenson Button of McLaren and is quite behind Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus who has shown some remarkable performances and has secured five podium finishes in the season so far.
Furthermore, he has scored his maiden victory in the Chinese Grand Prix after claiming his first ever pole position and brought his team a great delight for which it has long been longing for.
Even though, he has been deemed as one of the most talented drivers in the field, however, he has asserted that they need to make the essential developments and the substantial preparations so as to improve their position in the championship standings.
In addition, he said that he is eagerly looking forward to perform well in the Belgian GP and expressed his affiliations with the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
“I always look forward to racing at Spa,” Rosberg said. “It's one of the highlights of season and definitely one of my favourite tracks. The circuit itself is outstanding, with of course exciting corner of calendar in Eau Rouge.”
Besides, he said that he is contended with the performance of his team in the season until now and asserted that the competition is very tight and they must keep on making the essential preparations for the forthcoming races.
“It's been nice to have break over last month and for everyone at team to have some time to relax with their families, but we're all looking forward to the action starting again in second half of season. There's a lot of hard work ahead to make sure we are
competing where we want to be and challenging towards front of field,” he added.
