Nico Rosberg says Mercedes need to improve race pace for next race weekends – Formula 1 news
Mercedes GP driver Nico Rosberg has said that his team needs to make improvement in terms of pace for the upcoming race weekends of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Rosberg also mentioned that Mercedes must focus on the race setup and that they need to see what improvements they can make in their MGP-W02 car for better results in the remainder of the ongoing season.
The German believes if the team makes some changes in their package, they can take another small step forward towards their success of this season.
The Mercedes driver told the media that he is very excited for the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix, as he is going to take part in his 100th race in Formula 1 racing.
Talking to reporters, Rosberg said, “It's a nice number but statistics aren't that important to me. I'm looking forward to the weekend in Budapest as I like the Hungaroring very much, and I'm hoping for a better time than in 2010 when unfortunately I didn't
finish the race.”
In the recently held German Grand Prix, the 26-year-old driver took a good start. He admitted that he had a good race pace in the qualifying round as compared to the race day. The Petronas-sponsored team driver started his race from the sixth place on the
opening grid and ended up in the seventh spot after struggling a lot.
After a successful race weekend in Nürburgring recently, Rosberg is looking forward to make more improvements at the Hungaroring race circuit this weekend.
On the other hand, his teammate Michael Schumacher has said that he is hopeful that they can get better from the next race weekend of this season following a good German Grand Prix.
The seven-time world champion stated, “I will obviously never forget that I won one of my World titles there, and I always enjoyed the support of a lot of fans travelling to Budapest. Ideally we can help them enjoy their weekend, and I am hopeful we can
as we have seen some progress lately with our car.”
The Hungarian Grand Prix will start from July 29, 2011. Let’s see how Mercedes perform over there.
