Nico Rosberg says he is prepared for Lewis Hamilton challenge in 2013 – Formula 1 news
Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has said that he is very well prepared to face the challenge of having Lewis Hamilton, who is currently in McLaren, as his teammate in 2013.
The Brackley based team has recently announced that they have signed a new contract with Hamilton who is going to replace the seven-time world champion, Michael Schumacher in the next season. Moreover, Schumacher has confirmed that he will take retirement
at the end of this season.
Meanwhile, there have been a lot of speculations that Rosberg will be overshadowed by the Briton who is a better racing driver than him. However, he said that he has competed with the record championship holder who even now is one of the most competitive
drivers. Therefore, he is not feeling any kind of pressure and is excited about having the British driver as his future teammate.
Furthermore, he asserted that he is very well aware of the competency of the 2008 world champion as he has raced with him in the go-karts. Nonetheless, he said that he is earnestly looking forward to have him in the team.
"At the moment my team-mate is a seven-time world champion so the talent I'm up against is very high!" Rosberg said. "So I think it's going to be a similarly difficult challenge, very interesting and for me very exciting also. It's been a good challenge
over the last three years with Michael and I'm looking forward to the challenge with Lewis. I remember racing him in go-karts so I know it's tough up against him for sure. He's very, very quick, one of the best out there at the moment, but it'll be good and
it's great that he's joining the team."
The Silver Arrows have faced many technical issues in their car during the current season due to which they have not been able to attain desired results. Nevertheless, the veteran German driver has said that they are positively looking forward to perform
well in the remainder of the season.
In addition, he said that they will surely be more competent in the coming year.
