Nico Rosberg tops timesheets in FP3 of 2012 Monaco Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has topped the timesheets in the third free practice session of 2012 Monaco Grand Prix held at Circuit de Monaco.
The veteran German driver set the fastest time of 1 minute and 15.159 seconds. Moreover, he completed 25 laps and stayed ahead of Felipe Massa of Ferrari who came second after setting his best time of 1 minute and 15.197 seconds.
The Brazilian driver was followed by Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing who set the third quickest time of 1 minute and 15.209 seconds on supersoft compound tyres.
The defending champion remained ahead of the Spaniard, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari who covered 20 laps and came fourth on the timesheets with his best time of 1 minute and 15.210 seconds.
Romain Grosjean of Lotus set the fifth fastest time of 1 minute and 15.445 seconds while he completed 18 laps. The French driver was followed by Jenson Button of McLaren who came 6th in the timesheets with his best time of 1 minute and 15.471 seconds and
covered 19 laps.
Button stayed ahead of his teammate, Lewis Hamilton who set the 7th quickest time of 1 minute and 15.734 seconds. The 2008 world champion was followed by Michael Schumacher of Mercedes who came 8th after setting his fastest lap time of 1 minute and 15.893
seconds. Furthermore, the seven-time world champion completed 23 laps and remained ahead of Sergio Perez of Sauber-Ferrari who stood at 9th place after setting his best time of 1 minute and 16.110 seconds.
Mark Webber of Red Bull set the 10th quickest time of 1 minute and 16.219 seconds while he covered 19 laps. The Australian driver was followed by Jean-Eric Vergne of Toro Rosso who came 11th on the timesheets with his fastest time of 1 minute and 16.226
seconds.
Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus stood at 12th place in the timesheets with his best lap time of 1 minute and 16.301 seconds. Besides, the Finnish driver completed 21 laps and remained ahead of Kamui Kobayashi of Sauber.
The Japanese driver was followed by Daniel Ricciardo of Toro Rosso who set the 14th best time of 1 minute and 16.479 seconds. Ricciardo covered 20 laps and stayed ahead of Nico Hulkenberg of Force India.
Bruno Senna of Williams came 16th on the timesheets with his fastest lap time of 1 minute and 17.055 seconds. The Mexican driver was followed by Heikki Kovalainen of Caterham who stayed ahead of Paul di Resta. Di Resta was followed by Vitaly Petrov of Caterham
who remained ahead of Timo Glock of Marussia.
Pastor Maldonado of Williams wiped up the rear left wheel of his car during the last three minutes of FP3. The Venezuelan driver stayed ahead of Charles Pic of Marussia who was followed by HRT pair of drivers, Narain Karthikeyan and Pedro de la Rosa.
