Nicolai Firtha says Tyson Fury is a good fighter but he will not lose against him – Boxing news
The Stone Man, Nicolai Firtha, has vowed he will outclass the reigning British and Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury this weekend.
The 32-year-old American pugilist, Firtha, stated this is a very symbolic fight for him.
Ohio’s Nicolai Firtha, who will take on Manchester’s 6 ft 9” giant, Fury, in a 12-round heavyweight bout this Saturday, September 17, 2011 at King’s Hall in Belfast, Ireland, told the media he will wear be wearing his symbolic white trunks which he wore
four years back.
The 23-year-old Fury is an undefeated British prospect as he has won all of his 15 professional fights, with 8 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout. Moreover, Fury beat the Del Boy, Dereck Chisora, on July 23, 2011 at the Wembley Arena in London with
a unanimous points’ decision.
Therefore, Firtha admitted Fury is a very skilled fighter and nothing will be easy for him on the fight night but on the same note he claimed he will win the fight as it means a lot to him.
While speaking on his inclusion, Firtha said, “I know Tyson comes in good shape, is very skilled and athletic. That’s pretty rare in the game and especially in the heavyweights.”
Firtha remarked, “I will be wearing very symbolic trunks on Saturday. I wore them four years ago just a week before my father passed and I lost the fight. It was a tough time and I wasn’t sure whether I would box again or not. I brought those shorts over
with me and I made a promise to myself I would never lose again while I’m wearing them so this is a very symbolic fight for me.”
There is not much time left now in the Firth-Fury mega heavyweight showdown. However let’s see if Firtha really has what it takes to break Fury’s unbeaten record or not.
