The France international has defended his international teammate over his foul-mouthed outburst at a journalist following Les Bleus’ elimination from the Euro 2012 at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011
The Manchester City midfielder was handed a three-match international ban for his expletive-laden rant at reporters at Euro 2012, after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 were beaten by Spain in the quarter-finals of the competition.
While many have criticised the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicolas-Anelka-c27786, feels that the 25-year-old was right to act like that and media has over exaggerated the incident.
While talking to reporters, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shanghai-Shenhua-c40497 striker stated that everyone has the right to speak publicly and Nasri said what he felt was right.
"In France, everybody has the right to speak publicly," he told French reporters.
Anelka, who was sent home after reportedly abusing coach, Raymond Domenech, at the 2010 World Cup, feels that media has been really biased towards French players and they are making stories out of nothing.
The 33-year-old added that if media can say whatever they want then why aren't players allowed to say such stuff. Samir Nasri said what he was feeling at that moment and it wasn’t that big a deal unlike the picture media has portrayed.
"If media can do it, normal people can do it, why can’t Samir Nasri then?”
Anelka said that first media try to provoke a player and when he says something out of anger, they make life h**l for him.
"So when the media try to provoke a player, they really want the player to say something in response. And http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 gave them something they really wanted.”
The former Real Madrid player added that in his opinion, what Samir Nasri did was right and he didn’t deserve such harsh treatment. The 25-year-old has served his three-match and Anelka feels that the player should be recalled to the national side immediately.
"Anyway, As far as I am concerned, I think what he did was right," the former Paris Saint-Germain player added.
France take on reigning World and European champions, Spain, in their next game of the World Cup qualifying campaign on Tuesday.
