It was Didier Drogba who scored the decisive penalty for his side in the penalty shoot-out against Bayern Munich for the UEFA Champions League trophy. The shot hitting the back of the net meant the Blues were European champions for the very first time.
Despite leading them to Champions League glory, Drogba decided to part ways with the club after his contract with them expired. This brings an end to a highly successful eight year career with the Blues, making Drogba one of their most successful players.
Since his departure from Chelsea has been confirmed, Drogba has been linked to various clubs, amongst which is the Chinese club. If he joins Shenhua, he will not be the first player to do so with Nicolas Anelka having left last summer to join them.

time, after winning them the European trophy. Anelka also praised his former club, claiming they deserved the win.
Anelka revealed in an interview:
“About if I have anything to say to Drogba, I would like to say that I congratulate him on winning the European Champions League. And this congratulation goes to everyone at Chelsea.
He (Drogba) should be very proud that he leaves the club in this way.
