Anelka was one of the few players to leave the Blues in the January transfer window after his transfer request was accepted by the club. He left Stamford Bridge to join Shanghai Shenhua in a permanent move to the Chinese club and now the Frenchman expects
to be joined by Drogba.
Drogba is currently having trouble in his contract talks with the Blues, having so far failed to agree on a contract with the London side. While he did not leave in the winter transfer window, Drogba is expected to part ways with Chelsea in the upcoming
winter transfer window.
The Ivory Coast international remains the Blues most prolific striker and because of him none of the other forwards have been able to settle down at the club. This has become somewhat of a problem as even during his absence, they were unable to find the
back of the net.
One such striker is http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, which is something the management is thought
to be working towards.
Anelka believes that if Drogba is to leave he will end up alongside him at Shanghai, with the Chinese club looking to spend their wealth on talented, experienced players. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international revealed he was still in touch with Drogba and was
certain he would come to the Chinese club.
Anelka said while speaking to reporters:
“Yes, I often contact him. If all goes well, he should be able to come to Shanghai.”
However, Anelka confirmed the deal had not yet been concluded and that the paperwork regarding the potential deal was still incomplete. The former Chelsea striker only hinted there was a big possibility that he could once again be reunited with Drogba at
the Chinese club.
He continued:
“Of course, if he can, which does not depend on me, but is to be determined by the club owners and investors.”
