Nicolas Anelka would like to play alongside Wayne Rooney
Chelsea's goal scoring hero, Nicolas Anelka who has in recent weeks proved to be the driving force behind the teams tremendous form, has gone ahead and suggested that he is rather open to and kind of likes the idea of Manchester United's Wayne Rooney making
his way to London to play alongside him at the Stamford Bridge.
Anelka who was the difference maker in Chelsea's midweek clash in the Champions league, was reported to have said the following in the post match interview: "We have a big squad with good players and even though we have a lot of players missing, we are capable
of winning games.”
"Rooney is a good player, everybody knows his quality. If he wants to come to Chelsea then he is welcome, but I am not the owner."
The player who scored a brilliant goal that settled the teams nerves, in the very stadium that they lost out on the Champions League final against United, was full on confidence after the win. He even went on to say that the match meant far more to him personally
than most people could imagine and that was mostly due to the fact that he missed a crucial penalty in the very stadium that cost Chelsea European glory.
The player and the team seem to finally have gotten over that loss and are now looking to plan for the future. The team are currently amongst the favourites to win the Champions League and it would be fairly ludicrous to not consider them to be best team
to win every trophy this season. However despite of that fact, the team could use the addition of a few more players. With Didier Drogba and Anelka being the teams main source of goals, they seem to be played far more often then they should and as a result
they get injured or end up not performing to their full potential. If the team manages to sign the likes of Rooney, who despite of his poor form is still one of the best players in the world, then the team could truly become unstoppable.
Rooney along with Drogba could prove to be the two toughest strikers for any defender to play against. Both the forwards are strong and have great upper body strength along with a very good eye for the back of the net. Those two if coupled with the pace
and finesse of Anelka, could just be the dream forward line up for any team.
With the players at the team already being more than willing to play with Rooney, it is now down to the teams officials to decide if the move will ever go through or not.
