The Giallorossi defender believes that the Roma project will take time to bring results; targets return to action before the end of the 2011/12 season.
AS Roma defender, Nicolas Burdisso, has urged the Giallorossi fans to remain patient and continue backing the club despite the poor recent form.
The capital side has suffered three defeats in their last four league matches, and their hopes of finishing among the top-three are fading very quickly. Their latest disappointment came in the Derby della Capitale, where they suffered
a 2-1 defeat at the hands of local rivals, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775.
However, the injured defender is not concerned with the poor run, and is confident that the Giallorossi will hit the top gear very soon. The Argentine has urged the fans to remain patient, as he knows that the slump will be over
soon. The experienced defender has confidence in the club’s new project, but insists that such projects are not completed overnight.
While talking to the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 channel, Burdisso said:
“We are the first to know that things are not going well. But the club, team and Coach are all in this together. It’s a difficult period; bad results have come our way, such as that of the derby, whilst the picture is perhaps even
worse with the picture in Bergamo against Atalanta. But here we are doing something serious, great that is not built in a day, a week or a month.”
The 30-year-old is currently recovering from a serious knee injury picked up in November. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan star has started light training, but it will take him further 8-10 weeks to return to full fitness. Burdisso is confident
of making a return to the team before the end of the ongoing season.
“It would be great. But it would be symbolic - perhaps just a few minutes on the pitch. I’ve been working well for a couple of months now."
Burdisso also provided some support to Simon Kjaer, and insists that the Danish international has brought a lot of quality to the AS Roma squad.
La Maggica will take on Palermo in their next game on Saturday, March 10.
