Nicolas Colsaerts confirms to play the ISPS Handa Wales Open
Nicolas Colsaerts has confirmed that he will play the upcoming European Tour event of the ISPS Handa Wales Open, scheduled to start from May 31 to June 3, 2012.
The 29-year-old Belgian is the winner of the Volvo World Match Play Championship, and is now looking to record another triumph on the European Tour.
“It’s always a real pleasure to welcome back so many of our former champions and the stars of The European Tour.” ISPS Handa Wales Open tournament director Dylan Matthews said.
“We are very fortunate to have an outstanding crop of European players coming through at the moment and this is a great opportunity for golf fans to see these stars in tournament action.”
Colsaerts started his professional career in 2000. He had been unimpressive till 2009, and he still has not played at any mega tour.
In 2000, he won the title of the World Travel Open, the Belgian Match Play Championship in 2002, the Omnium of Belgium in 2003, the Open International de Bordeaux in 2005 and the Mauritius Golf Masters 2010.
These are some of the victories in local tournaments.
He started his real professional winning career in 2009, when he won the title of the SK Golf Challenge in August 2009, the Challenge Tour event.
Later in September, he recorded another impressive win at the Dutch Futures and made his first 4-stroke lead victory amazingly.
Then he was selected for the European Tour staged events in 2012 and has been doing his best so far. He started his season from Volvo Golf Champions and finished tied for the 4th position in January.
Soon after the opening event, he played the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship and recorded a 24th finish. He did not lost hope and practised most of the time in order to be among the top 10 again.
He achieved his desired goals at the Commercialbank Qatar Masters, presented by Dolphin Energy and at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, where he recorded a 9th position finish in an amazing style.
In April, he improved his position further, cheering all the spectators after making a 12-under par and grabbed 3rd position at the Sicilian Open.
He continued his solid performance at the Volvo China Open and scored an 18-under par. He also finished on the runner-up position there and made a way towards the victory.
