Nicolas Colsaerts positive of his chances in Ballantine’s Championship – European Tour news
The Belgian Nicolas Colsaerts will once again be showing his talent in the Ballantine’s Championship.
The four-day event is being contested at the par-72, Blackstone Golf Club in Seoul, Korea.
Colsaerts is full of talent which he showed by winning the Volvo China Open. He will now have another challenge ahead in Korea. The Belgian was the second youngest player at 18 years of age when he qualified to play the European Tour in 2000.
Since qualifying, he has worked hard during his career and finally a victory came his way. The 28-year-old enjoyed his form during the China Open as he won by a margin of four strokes against the field. He showed great temperament and never looked under
any kind of pressure.
The Volvo China Open winner has now his eyes set on winning his second European Tour title. He will be among the contenders of Ballantine’s Championship which already has a star-studded field.
Although he has achieved great success playing on the European Challenge Tour, but only has a single victory on the European Tour. He will certainly look forward to improve this record by claiming the Ballantine’s Championship.
In his early career, he struggled a lot with his game. In 2003, Colsaerts finished at the 77th place on the Money list. The long-hitting professional from Belgium was in danger as there was not much success in his career in his early years.
It surely was a gigantic move by the 28-year-old who won his maiden European Tour title. He looked in great form during all the four rounds and carded under par scores.

His friends and colleagues helped him bring his focus back to golf two years back. The results of his hard work showed during the China Open as he did not worry about the players around him. He managed to play in his own style and looked in dominant touch.
He will now be up against a field which includes some of the top golfers of the world. Players like Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter, Dustin Johnson and Ernie Els are participating in the Ballantine’s Championship.
The big hitting Colsaerts has to once again manage his way on the leader board. Although his form and birdie streak still is there, he will still be a bit under pressure because of the field. He will have to play well to earn his second back-to-back European
Tour title.
In his recent interview, the China Open winner said, “I’ve waited for this moment for such a long time but even through all the hard times, I never lost faith in myself. My career’s been a real rollercoaster, and until recently I’ve probably experienced
more downs than ups.”
Colsaerts sounded confident after winning his maiden championship and is looking forward to performing well in the Ballantine’s Championship which tees off on Thursday.
