“We agreed with the club and I am very pleased to renew my contract. I hope to fulfil the agreement. The club treats me very well and I feel very comfortable over here. I'm relaxed and I will continue to do, what I have been doing on the field,” he said.
The Argentine also added that he appreciated the support fans had given him and revealed that good or bad times in the life of a footballer were quite common.
“Fans treat me very well. But today you may be in a less kind period and another time can be good,” Nicolas Gaitan was quoted as saying.
Although he has penned a new deal at Benfica, Nicolas Gaitan remains one of the most coveted players in Europe. With a host of clubs on his trail, a move may arise for him in the future, but for the time being he will ply his trade in the Primeira Liga.
