The Cameroon international has expressed his desire to stay at Stade Velodrome, despite attracting strong interest from a number of top European clubs
Les Phoceens are witnessing a major overhaul in their ranks with so many players on the verge of leaving Stade Velodrome ahead of the new season.
The Ligue 1 outfit failed to qualify for the Champions League after finishing outside the podium position last season, prompting several players to express their desire to seek a move away from the French club in order to play Champions League football.
In addition to that, Marseille are looking to offload top earners at the club to balance the books.
However, one player who is more than happy to continue his adventure with the Rhone club is Nicolas N'Koulou. The defender has expressed his desire to continue playing for the nine-time champions of France, amid strong interest from Spanish side Barcelona and Italian side AS Roma.
While talking to reporters, the Cameroon international stated that he will honour his contract with Marseille and is eagerly looking forward to the next season.
"I am not aware of the news linking me with other clubs. I will honour my contract with Marseille. I have a contract with OM until 2015 and I will wear the colours of Marseille this season.”
N'Koulou said that he has massive respect for L’OM and has no desire to leave the French club at this stage of his career.
“I came here because the OM is a great club that I greatly appreciate. I want to be one of those players who wrote the beautiful pages of the club and it would not be good for me to leave under these conditions.”
Putting an end to weeks of uncertainty regarding his future, the 22-year-old stated that he wishes to continue playing for one of the best sides in the Ligue 1.
“I do not want to leave. My greatest desire is to continue with Marseille, which is one of the best clubs in the county.”
Nicolas N'Koulou was an integral part of Marseille last season under Didier Deschamps. The defender managed to make 30 appearances in 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign.
