The Olympique de Marseille defender is pleased with his side’s strong start to the season and has praised the team spirit
Les Phoceens have started the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign in a flying manner, winning all of their games in convincing fashion.
OM have started the season in style and many are tipping Elie Baup’s side to rival the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Lille for the Championelle this time around.
However, Nicolas N’Koulou is not getting carried away despite seeing his side top the table, after five wins in five games. While talking to reporters, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cameroon-c2865 international expressed his pleasure at Marseille’s impressive showing in the league this
season.
The 22-year-old knows that in football, things can change very quickly and believes that it’s too early to judge the Rhone giants as the season has just begun.
“This pleasure is obvious, but everything could turn wrong in football very quickly.”
N’Koulou said that winning is always pleasing and to lead the league table is simply amazing. However, it’s just a start and the defender wants his side to build on their impressive start if they want to achieve something this season.
The 22-year-old said that there are several players in the team who aren’t playing at the moment but deserve to get a chance to show what they are capable of.
"We are happy with our start, but we don't have to get blazed. The group is tight; those on the bench deserve to be, even if they're not well known.”
Marseille endured a miserable season last year that saw them finish tenth in the Ligue 1. However, N’Koulou feels that there is more harmony among players this time, and expect the Rhone giants to do well this season.
“There was a lot of tension last year but not anymore. The group lives better together. We're working well during trainings; we'll try to manage well the season."
