This season, Nicolas N’Koulou has been one of the few shining moments of a campaign Olympique de Marseille really want to end as soon as possible. Mired in 10th place in the Ligue 1 standings, Les Phoceens have never been this poor as they continue
to fail to register a win in the league.
However, at the end of the campaign one can say that N’Koulou did give his all and indeed, has a bright future ahead of him.
While talking to the media, the 22-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cameroon-c2865 international said that though he is happy with his performances, he is sad to see how bad things have been at the club this year. Not one to run away from his responsibilities, the youngster says that
the whole team is the reason behind what the current situation is at the club.
“It hurts to live such a situation. It is stretching. There are tensions in the locker room, this is normal. We are at fault. If we had done the right thing, many fans would come.”
Pleading guilty, the young Cameroonian doesn’t flee from his responsibilities and knows that his mistakes and those of his teammates have cost the club dearly this year.
Since the club’s crisis rose, the defender has been linked with a move away from the Stade Velodrome. Reports claim that La Liga side Barcelona are keen on signing the player this summer in order to have a good defensive option in the squad. However, N’Koulou
says that a transfer is the last thing on his mind and added that he is only focussed at Marseille’s situation.
“I am at OM and this is the difficulty that grows. Barcelona? It’s flattering! It’s good to be followed. In sporting terms, I will look at what’s good for me. I’m under contract, what concerns me most is the situation of the club.”
Since joining the club from AS Monaco last summer, N’Koulou has become one of the best centre-backs in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 and Marseille would be desperate to hold on to him for a while longer.
