The Olympique de Marseille defender says that he is not sure whether he will be at Olympique de Marseille next season or not. The Cameroonian craves for Champions League football
If there is one player in Olympique de Marseille who deserves a big transfer this summer, it is defender Nicolas N’Koulou. The youngster joined Les Phoceens from AS Monaco last summer and has been a modicum of consistency in his debut season for the Rhone
giants.
However, despite his best efforts, N’Koulou’s side finished the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign as the 10th best team in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899, something which not many Marseille fans expected.
Named the best player of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 this season, the player is not sure about his future at the Canebiere club anymore.
While talking to Provence, N’Koulou said that though the season has not been a good one for the team, he is satisfied with his performances as it’s not easy to do so well among a talented bunch of individuals.
The 22-year-old is looking to use his first season at Velodrome as a learning curve and says that he is still finding his strength.
However, while talking about his future at the club, N’Koulou remained coy and said that as he still has games to play for the national side, the season is still not over for him.
“I have not decided yet. My season is not over, I still have games with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cameroon-c2865. I prefer to stay focused on that. After that, I will discuss with my agent and take stock of things in order to make the best choice.”
The young defender does not intend to make bold decisions despite the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 monitoring his progress.
“I am under contract with OM (until 2015). Logically, I’m bound to the club. But in football, you never know what can happen. Sometimes, one is forced to make choices reluctantly. I repeat, I prefer to stay focused.”
However, N’Koulou also added that if a good proposal is given, the club might not be able to say no which clearly means that the youngster might have been at the Rhone club for just a season.
