Nicolo Ossola conquers Men’s 50m breast-stroke crown in Viareggio: 2011 Italian Grand Prix
GS Forestale’s Nicolo Ossola splashed hard against his rivals during the Men’s 50m breast-stroke match at the 2011 Italian Grand Prix in Viareggio, Italy, on Saturday, November 19.
Ossola was combating with Alessandro Terrin of Gr. Nuoto Fiamme Gialle and Andrea Toniato of Gr. Nuoto Fiamme Gialle, as Ossola went full throttle against his challengers and produced versatile turns in the pool by thrashing the finishing blockade in a winning
blot of 27.70 seconds to win the Men’s 50m breast-stroke title.
After the race, Terrin earned silver medal in the respective race by clicking the finishing divider in a time of 27.96 seconds and Toniato earned bronze title in a mark of 28.10 seconds. The match between Daniele Cremonesi of Forum Sport Center and Francesco
Di Lecce of Rari Nantes Torino was tied with a matching mark of 28.23 seconds for fourth position.
In the meantime, Francesco Broglia of Geas Nuoto earned sixth place honours in a time of 28.67 seconds. Last, but not the least, Edoardo Giorgetti of Circolo Canottieri and Luca Pizzini picked seventh spot in an identical time of 28.68 seconds.
On the other hand, the Women’s 50m freestyle crown was taken over by Erika Ferraioli in a winning blot of 25.76 seconds. Gigliola Tecchio finished second in a time of 26.12 seconds, while Lucrezia Raco was settled at third spot with a mark of 26.35 seconds.
Meanwhile, Ylenia Sciarrini of Aurelia Nuoto was placed at fourth spot in a time of 26.46 seconds and Veronica Neri finished fifth in a mark of 27.09 seconds. The sixth position went to Sara Curandai in a time of 27.13 seconds, while Claudia Putzolu earned
seventh place honour in 27.19 seconds. Finally the eighth place went to Serena Bianchi in a time of 27.42 seconds.
Due to their versatile swims, GS Forestale’s Nicolo Ossola and Erika Ferraioli were awarded gold titles after the session’s conclusion. The 2011 Italian Grand Prix is a pivotal occasion for all young guns of the country to prepare themselves better for their
upcoming meets of swimming.
