show me your solution please:

•a cube measure 5.00 cm on side. If its mass is 80.0 g,what is density?

•a spherical solid has a radius of 1.24 cm . If its density is 5.20 g/cm cube what is mass?

  1. Solving For Density

    1)

    d = m/v

    Conversions:

    m = 80g =  0.08   kg

    v = 125 cm^3 = 0.000125   m^3

    ---> d = (0.08 kg)/(0.000125 m^3)

           d = 640  kg/m^3

    2) d=m/v => m=dv

    volume of square: v = 4/3(pi)(r^3)

                                      = 7.9864 cm^3

    conversions

    d = 5.2   g/cm^3 = 5200 kg/m^3

    v = 7.9864 cm^3 = 7.9864E-06   m^3

    -> m=dv

         m=(5200 kg/m^3)(7.9864E-06 m^3)

         m=0.04152928 kg

  2. density = mass/volume

    volume = 5^3 = 125 cm^3

    density = 80/125 = 0.64 g/cc

    2) r = 1.24

    density = 5.2 g/cc

    V = (4/3) pi r^3 = 4/3 (3.14)(1.24)^3

    V = 8.0 cm^3

    density = mass/volume

    mass  = density* volume

    mass = 5.2(8.0) = 41.6 g
