Nifty Crash dominates Newcastle’s Thursday card
Nifty Crash recorded the best time of the day over 480 metres at Newcastle on Thursday, April 19, 2012. The D. Calvert-trained stopped the clock in 29.65 seconds to ensure a comprehensive triumph in the William Hill - The Home
of Betting, a Grade A1 event.
Nifty Crash led the proceedings from pillar to post, giving his opponents no chance to fancy their chances. The 3-1 joint favourite started off the show from the red box.
Soon after the beginning, the brindle dog established his dominance, which he maintained till the wire.
Fagans Kiko gave him a lot of hard time in the middle, but fell short by ½ a length. The white and blue hound covered the distance in 29.69 seconds.
The outcome would have been seriously disappointing for Premarket Olly’s fans. The black dog was declared joint favourite ahead of the competition, but he failed to live up to the expectations.
After getting crowded early on, J. Wright’s trainee lost the crucial chance to get an early lead. Consequently, he missed the runner-up spot by four and a quarter lengths.
Earlier in the day, Fabulous Land displayed a splendid show in the William Hill Hotbox Bet Stakes. The Grade A2 event saw the brindle b***h clocking the area in 30.13 seconds.
As a result of a fine job right through the race, the A. McCarroll-trained secured the top place by one and a half lengths. J. Fenwick’s Skywalker Ellie managed to seize the runner-up position by a short head’s distance.
Williamhill.com Stakes saw Ballyfidora Sal topping the chart by a length. The 9-4 favourite made it to the winning post in 30.45 seconds, beating Saddlebags comprehensively.
In the William Hill Hotbox Bet Stakes, Yeneed Faith outsmarted her rivals to grab an easy win by a couple of lengths. The Grade A3 event started at 20:43 GMT.
Quickly after the start, the black b***h managed to attain a decent lead. She retained her advantage till the finishing line, defeating Thurlesbeg Red without any trouble.
It would have been a shocking result for Stay On Lass, who was holding the highest odds of 5 to 2.
