Manchester City’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nigel-de-Jong-c27882 believes that City need to win all their remaining games, since from now on, ever game that the team plays is going to be like a cup final.
The Dutch international feels that City are still not in the clear to win the Premier League title and even a minor slip up at this point in the season could see the team suffer a massive fall out, as they miss out on winning the Premier League title.
De Jong, when talking about the remainder of the season is quoted to have said: “It has come down to the last 11 matches. We have 11 cup finals – and so have United. From now on, every game is a final.”
“We can’t afford any mistakes because we know that United are right behind us. Can we feel them? Not really, we just look at the table and see the gap is just two points.”
He then went on to admit that United are only two points behind them and could catch up at any point, should the team suffer a slip up.
“United are two points worse off so they also know that any mistake could really hurt their chances. It is brutal. What we must do is concentrate on us rather than them.”
The midfielder then went on to admit that a win in all of the team’s remaining fixtures was the only way for City to ensure that they would win the League, since there was no other way of ensuring this fact.
“If we win 11 games then we are the champions. People talk about pressure. But pressure is only what you put on yourself.”
City have proven that they are a team that can cope with the toughest of tests. However, with United having way more experience than City, they could just go on and sneak past their opponents.
It is now up to City to win all their games, or suffer a very dramatic end to the season.
