http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nigel-de-Jong-c27882 has come out and admitted that he is happy at Manchester City and does not intend to move anywhere else in the current transfer window. De Jong is currently in precarious situation at the Etihad stadium as his present
contract at the Premier League champions, runs out at the end of next season which means that the Dutch midfielder can seek a free transfer to any club if he chooses to do so anytime in the middle of the next league campaign.
City have not offered De Jong a new contract up till now and with Bayern Munich interested in the Dutch midfielder, exit might be close for feisty tackler. De Jong was a bit part player at Manchester City last season as he was
mostly found on the bench acting as a substitute for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini’s squad.
Nonetheless, he did play his part in City’s title campaign which saw them finish level on points with Manchester United but win the league title on goal difference. In the new season, De Jong might have limited opportunities once
again as City do have their fair share of competition for places when it comes to central midfield spots.
Indeed, Yaya Toure is a favourite to start every match if his fitness permits but the same cannot be said of De Jong whose rash tackling has become a cause for concern for both club and country in the past.
De Jong said, "I don't want to talk about that at the moment, it's not in my mind - however, I'm playing football and I'm happy here. I’m happy when I'm on the pitch and when I'm playing; football's the most beautiful game in the
world and you have to enjoy every moment."
He added, "Of course, that's what we all want because that's the way to go forward. We set ourselves the goal of taking it step by step. We won the FA Cup last year, then the Premier League last season, so the next thing is the
Champions League.”
