Bolton Wanderers skipper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nigel-Reo-Coker-c27884 has dismissed his spat with Liverpool forward Craig Bellamy and instead chose to focus on the 3-1 win.
The two have a history, having first had a row in 2007 when they both were at West Ham United. It was once again revived in the first half of the clash on Saturday and both had to be pulled away by teammates before the feud got intense.
It was Reo-Coker who scored his side’s second goal, which helped them secure the win over the Reds and helped them climb out of the bottom three of the Premier League table. While the fight against Bellamy did leave a sour taste in the mouth, Reo-Coker ultimately got the last laugh.
Reo-Coker said in an interview:
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Craig-Bellamy-c9471 is going to be Craig Bellamy and I've got no respect for him. He can do whatever he wants to do but I don't give a d**n about him. It is football.”
The 27-year-old midfielder revealed he had no respect for Bellamy and even though he was not someone to pick fights on the football field, he had been unable to ignore Bellamy’s advances. However, Reo-Coker wished to focus on more important things, like the much needed win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809.
He revealed:
“But I'm not concentrating on him, he is not a big factor in this. It is all about the team and the team performance and I thought we were fantastic.
There was no neutral who watched the game who could say we didn't deserve that win.”
The midfielder revealed he believed his side deserved the win, which helped them out of the bottom three. The former Aston Villa man felt the win had been important at this point in the season as it gave the team hope that they could after all avoid relegation.
Having worn the captain’s armband, Reo-Coker admitted he was proud to have led his team against Liverpool and delivered a win.
Reo-Coker continued:
“I would say to the manager there is a lot more I can do. At the moment I have been asked to do a specific role for the team and that is what I am doing.”
