Several players in the Oranje squad have offered their apologies for abysmal performance at Euro 2012, but the Manchester City midfielder has insisted that losing is part of the game.

The Flying Dutchmen entered the competition as one of the favourites to achieve European glory due to their impressive showings since the 2010 World Cup, losing only three of their 22 official fixtures.
However, the Oranje faltered in the group stages, as they suffered defeats in all three of their Group B matches against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 respectively. The 2010 World Cup runners-up suffered a humiliating 1-0 defeat to the Danes before going
down 2-1 against Die Mannschaft and A Seleccao respectively.
Following their disappointing European Championship campaign, which saw the Dutch crashing out of the competition in the first round, many of the players have been offering their apologies to the fans.
However, De Jong has insisted that everyone had put in their hundred percent, and they always entered the field with the intention to win.
“No, I don't think we should offer our apologies. We all went out on the pitch with the intention to win. Losing is part of football, too. You have to be able to see things in perspective”, the Manchester City midfielder was quoted as saying to NUsport.nl.
The Dutch midfielder went on to insist that the players do not have to apologise after crashing out of the competition, as they tried their level best to emerge victorious.
“You only apologise if you've done something with a bunch of friends that you shouldn't have done. Or when you're having an argument with your wife. You don't have to apologise for losing a game. Things like that simply happen. We all did our best”, De Jong
concluded.
