Niger strong contender for winning Sportinglife.com Handicap (London Mile Qualifier)
Niger is expected to be strong in the Sportinglife.com Handicap (London Mile Qualifier) at Kempton in England on Wednesday, August 8, 2012. A cash prize of £4,075 has been set for the class-4 winner.
The going has been described as standard to slow in the 1 mile race, which is scheduled to start at 20:30 GMT. A total of 11 entries have been confirmed and the competition will definitely be an exciting one.
None of the runners seem to have an advantage over the other, which will make it difficult for the punters to choose their favourite. However, they can risk their money in favour of Niger, who is carrying the winning momentum right now and will definitely be a force to reckon with at the end of the day.
The three-year-old colt has only represented his team in three events and has been impressive in them. He has managed to win one of them whereas finished as a runner up on the same number of times. He only dropped out of the top three once in his career, which proves that he has got a lot of talent.
The Jeremy Noseda’s trainee made his debut in May 2012 and failed to make a big impression in his first ever outing, securing sixth place. He was priced 8 to 1 back then and was expected to be competitive. He did give a tough time to his opponents, but was unable to finish amongst the top three. The result was still not a bad one though, as a total of 17 runners ran in that event.
Although Pivotal’s son failed to display his true potential, the bookies saw a lot of talent in him and gave him the best odds in his next race. However, he failed to meet their expectations and had to settle for the runner up position in the end.
Things finally worked well in favour of Niger, as he brought up his maiden victory in the sport previously. He was once again rated as the favourite to take the top spot and finished first by a neck distance that time around. A similar run will definitely put him in contention of another victory. His partner will be William Buick, who paired up with him last time as well.
